About Scarsdale, NY:
Located 24 miles north of midtown Manhattan, Scarsdale was settled in 1702 by Caleb Heathcote, an English merchant. Scarsdale is both a town and a village and has chosen to operate as a village government. Today, Tudor-style commercial buildings that dominate the small downtown recall the village’s heritage. This quaint village of primarily single family homes continues to attract newcomers based on its appealing quality of life. After all, Scarsdale has a nationally recognized school system, a convenient location and an enormous array of recreational options.

Metro North services Scarsdale with an easy 34 minute commute to Manhattan. The Bronx River Parkway and the Hutchinson River Parkway afford convenient access to New York airports and the greater New York metropolitan area.

Scarsdale’s Union Free School District is consistently regarded as one of the nation’s best. 97% of Scarsdale high school graduates go on to college. The school district is comprised of five elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.

Shopping is pleasant in the stroller-friendly village and there is also a nearby shopping center. Major department stores and chains are also accessible in nearby Eastchester and White Plains.
Ample opportunities for recreation exist in the village. The Parks and Recreation Department administers a variety of recreation programs to the residents of Scarsdale and is responsible for the use and care of four swimming pools, 26 tennis courts, five playing fields, ten neighborhood parks and the Weinberg Nature Center.
